Hi everyone,
Well i thought since it's my last day here for my work placement i'd do my blog while everyone is having a kai. Now, i have been here at tvnz for two weeks now and what an enjoyable two weeks, i wanna say thank you to all my lectures that made this possible hahaha nah but for real i think finally seeing it all in action by those that do it as a lifestyle was really umm ......................... awakening. I've been told over and over again that living this kinda life would be busy, stressful at times and other times quite fun, and just in these two weeks i think i can say i've seen it all hehehe.
Umm from the two weeks i had one day off which was the second monday!!! I was sent here in good time!!! Elections. Because of elections we had to work through the weekend, so i got to go out into the field with one of the reporters, we went around to visit different candidates for the Tamaki electorate. This was saturday the 8th. We got back to the office around 12.30 pm so we were wacked man, but it didn't end there that reporter had to go straight into editing and sound to create her story for Sunday mornings show. So we didn't get back to the heritage till around about 2.00am. The following morning we were filming live from the studio with the 7 winning candidates which were Tariana Turia(Hauauru), Nanaia Mahuta(Pare Hauraki, Pare Waikato), Parekura Horomia(Ikaroa Rawhiti), Pita Sharples(Tamaki Makaurau), who we all voted for i hope? hehehe Hone Harawira(Tokerau), Te Ururoa Flavell(Waiariki), and Rahui Katene the new Maori Party MP for Taitonga. So we had had to be at tvnz at 8.00am then look after all of them plus their whanau, we also had other media that wanted to get interviews so we had to try and keep them separate to the MP's until after the show. Once that all finished which was about 1.30pm including cleaning up the kai and green rooms i went home and slept. It was the best sleep i've ahd in weeks. This week has been pretty cruisy with the election being over so it was really preparing new stories and editing and stuff for the next lot of shows. I sat with one of the reporters while she editing one of her stories. I then sat in while they recorded this sundays show. The hole experience was awesome and i thoughrally enjoyed my self.
And last just one more mihi to all the kaimahi at Marae and Waka Huia for putting up with me over the past few weeks.
One more week to go whanau.
